Drinking Party News – False, Fabricated, and Baseless says SLC
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has responded to an article published by a Sunday newspaper and widely shared on social media, stating that the news is completely untrue, fabricated, and without any basis.
“Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) would like to provide a clarification regarding an inaccurate article titled “Drinking Party Inside Team Hotel Before South Africa Match?” that was published in a weekend newspaper on July 7th and subsequently circulated on social media. SLC strongly denies the claims made in the article and confirms that no such incidents took place. Therefore, SLC asserts that the news is entirely false, fabricated, and baseless.
We firmly believe that such false reporting unfairly tarnishes the reputation of Sri Lanka Cricket, its officials, and players. In response to these unfounded allegations, Sri Lanka Cricket has requested the newspaper in question to publish a ‘Right of Reply’ to address and correct the harm caused to Sri Lanka Cricket.”
