West Indies women are scheduled to embark on a tour of Sri Lanka in June, during which they will compete in three ODIs and three T20Is from 15-28 June.
The ODI series will take place in Galle from 15-21 June, while the T20I series will be held in Hambantota from 4-28 June. This tour marks the first bilateral series between the two teams since 2017. West Indies currently hold a strong record against Sri Lanka, leading 18-4 in T20Is and 18-14 in ODIs.
However, the Sri Lankan team, led by Chamari, has been in impressive form lately, securing victories against top teams like New Zealand, South Africa, and England. They also emerged victorious in the T20I World Cup qualifiers, finishing unbeaten and clinching the trophy by defeating Scotland in the finals. For Sri Lanka, this tour will serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming T20 Asia Cup, which will also be held in Sri Lanka starting on 20 July.
This will be their second bilateral T20I series of the year, following a successful tour of South Africa in March and April. Additionally, Sri Lanka is scheduled to tour Ireland in August. In the Women’s Championship table, West Indies currently hold the seventh position, while Sri Lanka is placed eighth.
