Things you need to know about Afghanistan batsman Ibrahim Zadran
Afghanistan has drawn the Cricket war against hosts Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Opting to bat first, Afghanistan set a mammoth target of 313, which Ibrahim Zadran was able to celebrate with a century.
The 20-year-old made his debut for Afghanistan across all formats in 2019 but failed to cement his place in the internationals. The youngster has already scored 433 runs in eight ODIs, at an average of 61.85, and is always on the lookout to convert it into a century every time he scores a fifty-plus run.
Ibrahim now has three centuries to his name in his last five matches in the 50-over format. A talent of the versatile right-hander is his ability to adapt quickly to any pitch. Although he is yet to play in global ICC events, the background has been set to help the batsman cement his place in the national team.
He earned a call-up from the Afghanistan national team for the three-match ODI series against the Lankan Lions after the team wanted to experiment with the top order of the batting line-up. Ibrahim will undoubtedly be a must-win player for his team in ODIs with his batting.
