“The LPL tournament was played without the approval of the Sports Ministry” – Sports Ministry

Published

on

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe stated that the LPL tournament has been played so far without the approval of the Sports Ministry.

When investors came to the country and this tournament was being organized, we intervened and disrupted it, so we allowed the tournaments to continue.

Before holding the next LPL tournament, this agreement must be renewed, and it is mandatory to get the approval of the Ministry of Sports. Accordingly, the Ministry of Sports should be prepared to increase the number of teams step by step in such a way that the name of the province is represented in addition to the existing five teams.

Further commenting there, he said that it is mandatory for the players from every province to represent that province, and by this, it is possible to expect the development of the players all over the country.
