India, who lost all their wickets for 36 runs in the first Test against Australia today, set a record for the lowest total of runs in Test history.

The first match of the four-match Test series against India and Australia kicks off on the 17th with a day and night match at Adelaide. Indian captain Virat Kholi won the toss and elected to bat first. India in the first innings loosed all the wickets for 244 runs.

Captain Virat Kohli scored 74, Cheddar Pujara 43 and Ajinkya Raghane 42. Mitchell Stock took 4 wickets in the Australian innings.

The Australians then started their first innings, losing all their wickets for 191 runs.

Team captain Tim Payne was unbeaten on 73 and Manas Labuchen on 47. Ravichandran Ashwin took 4 wickets in the innings.

India, who started their second innings with a 53-run lead, were bowled out for 36 runs by the Australian bowlers. Mayan Agarwal was the team’s leading run-scorer with 9 runs.

Josh Hazlewood took 5 wickets and Pet Cummins took 4 wickets. India’s 42 runs against England in 1974 is the lowest team total of runs scored in a Test match. But today it was beaten by the Australian bowlers to take out the Indian team for a poor 36 runs.

The Australians then went on chase to win by 90 runs, losing only 2 wickets. Tim Paine was chosen as the man of the match.

The 2nd Test between the two teams starts on the 26th in Melbourne.
