Shakib withdraws from the sponsorship deal with Betwinner News!!!

According to Bangladesh Cricket Board President Jalal Yunus, Shakib Al Hasan has pulled out of his sponsorship deal with a company called Betwinner News.

The resignation comes shortly after Bangladesh Cricket Board Chairman Nazmul Hasan said that Shakib would never play for Bangladesh again unless he ended his relationship with a betting firm.

Younus said Shakib informed the BCB of his decision in a letter on Thursday evening. “We were informed a while ago that Shakib has terminated his contract with the company. He said he will delete all social media posts related to the sponsorship.”

Existing laws in Bangladesh impose strict bans on any gatherings or establishments that facilitate gambling. Allowing gambling businesses to operate is against the law as well as the constitution of the country. Shakib’s endorsement of the betting company is reportedly in violation of this law.

Betwinner News
