Positive cases reported from the Football National Team
Today it was reported that 4 people from the Football National Team bio bubble were tested positive for COVID-19.
The New management headed by the President Mr. Jaswar Umar called 30 players and 15 officials for a bio bubble camp on 22nd August 2021 in preparation for SAFF Championship in October 2021.
Players were put into the bio bubble even before they have undergone the Rapid Antigen and PCR test and it was revealed that the reports were released only on the 23rd August 2021.
In the results, 2 players and 2 officials were tested positive and all the other players were under quarantine at the moment.
Meanwhile, some of the Football pages reported that Football Sri Lanka President held a meeting with the players, and few players were taken out breaching the bio bubble procedures for vaccination before the test results.
FSL President, stated that “Players are safe now . 2 or 3 suspected cases of the supporting staff, but not confirmed yet. We will wait for another two days for the 2nd PCR and make a statement. So far, all under control” as a reply for the question raised by a journalist.
This might affect the preparation for the SAFF games if this goes worse. Let’s pray for the best.
