Kumar Sangakkara comments on Sri Lanka’s humiliating defeat

Published

on

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara has expressed his concern regarding the lack of stability among the cricketers of the Sri Lankan cricket team.

Speaking after the third-match defeat against India, Sangakkara said he was not surprised but clearly worried, and that head coach Chris Silverwood was working on it.

“Chris is trying to sort out the problems that bowlers and batsmen face in the middle of the field. How to bowl in a way that suits the pitches? What to do to get wickets?” Sangakkara said.

Sangakkara pointed out that the same is the case with the batsmen, and the emphasis should be placed on how to maximize the potential between two batsmen in a 50-over match.

Praising Chris Silverwood, he added that the head coach is doing a great job leading these conversations, but he needs the buy-in and support of everyone around him.
