A special committee to investigate irregularities in the Football Federation

Sports Minister Mr Roshan Ranasinghe has appointed a special committee to investigate the financial control, administration, sports promotion and related issues of the Sri Lanka Football Federation.

Retired High Court Judge Sarojani Kusala Weerawardena is going to chair the said committee.

The committee is going to focus on the following points.

The Football Confederation has been delaying the drafting of its new constitution since 2012.
Financial control of the Football Federation from the year 2018.
Administration of the Football Federation.
Nominal football clubs are formed for the purpose of obtaining votes.
Procedure for recruitment of employees for office work, payment of wages and their role.
Actions and recommendations to be taken for the future development of football.

The special committee has been informed that a complete report containing related observations and recommendations should be received by the Sports Minister within two months.

පාපන්දු සම්මේලනය 2012 වර්ෂයේ සිට එහි නව ව්‍යවස්ථාව සැකසීමේ කටයුතු ප්‍රමාද කිරීම.
2018 වර්ෂයේ සිට පාපන්දු සම්මේලනයේ මුදල් පාලනය.
පාපන්දු සම්මේලනයේ පරිපාලනය.
ඡන්දය ලබා ගැනීමේ අරමුණින් පිහිටුවා ඇති නාමික පාපන්දු සමාජ.
කාර්යාල කටයුතු සඳහා සේවකයින් බඳවා ගැනීමේ ක්‍රියා පටිපාටිය, වැටුප් ගෙවීම් සහ ඔවුන්ගේ කාර්යභාරය.
අනාගත පාපන්දු ක්‍රිඩාවේ උන්නතිය වෙනුවෙන් ගත යුතු ක්‍රියාමාර්ග සහ නිර්දේශ.

ඊට අදාළ නිරීක්ෂණ සහ නිර්දේශ ඇතුළත් සම්පූර්ණ වාර්තාවක් මාස දෙකක් ගත වීමට පෙර ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යවරයා වෙත ලැබිය යුතු බව මෙම විශේෂ කමිටුවට දන්වා ඇත.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Chamindu Wickramasinghe has come under the spotlight after his bowling action was officially reported as suspicious during a recent domestic encounter.

The incident occurred in a match of the National Super League held from April 6 to 9, where the Dambulla side faced Colombo. Wickramasinghe, representing Dambulla, drew attention from match officials, prompting concerns over the legality of his action.

Sri Lanka Under-19 Women extended their impressive run in the Tri-Series with a composed four-wicket victory over Australia Women Under-19 cricket team at Bill Pippen Oval Today.

After being put in to bat, Australia U-19 struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling attack. Ayla Johnson top-scored with 18 off 29 balls, while Alyssa Dermody added a quick 13. However, regular wickets halted their progress as they finished on a modest 91 for 9 in 20 overs. Limansa Thilakarathne led the bowling effort with an impressive 3 for 26, well supported by Chamudi Praboda, who claimed 2 for 21.

In response, Sri Lanka Women Under-19 cricket team chased down the target with 92 for 6 in 19.3 overs.
