11th Match of LPL | Colombo Kings vs Jaffna Stallion | Match Report

Colombo Kings won the toss and elected to field first.

CK plan is to restrict the Stallion some around 150 runs for a easy chase, as they planned CK able to restrict the JS to 148/9 in 20 overs.

Balling attack of Kings was exceptional well and every stood up for the team, even Thisara Perera did not got a chance stand up for his team.

Only Wanidu Hasaranga contributed 41 runs in 23 balls and made the total up to 148 runs.

In the chase, Chandimal started well and aggressively from the word going and scored 68 runs in 51 balls inclusive of 2 sixes and 7 fours.

Meanwhile, Debut Viyasakanth is very respectful in first international standard match on his 18th age and it is not easy task to ball against Mathews, Russel and Chandimal who is settled and looking dangerous. The debutant manage to take Mathew’s wicket and gave only 29 runs in 4 overs.

In the 16th over Andre Russel muscled the ball all around ground for 23 runs and turn the match in favour of CK and his 32 runs in 20 balls cameo reduce the gap between runs and balls needed and put the CK into the driving seat.

Anyhow, Chandimal is the who anchored the innings and stayed till last to make sure the team reached home safely

Colombo Kings won the 11th LPL match by 6 wickets. This will be first lost for Jaffna Stallion in 5 matches

Sri Lanka’s Matheesha Pathirana, Eshan Malinga, and all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga are set to join their respective franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, pending clearance from Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) mandatory fitness tests.
