What is ICC World Test Championship??
The ICC World Test Championship is a league-based tournament inaugurated in 2019-21 with the Ashes series and will finish within 2 years.
In this tournament, nine out of twelve test playing nations will participate and each nation should play six test series with the other eight teams. Furthermore, these six series will be played as three home series and the other three as the away series and each series inclusive of minimum two matches and a maximum of five matches.
In each series maximum of 120 points will be awarded and points will be segregated among the numbers of winning matches and tied matches in the series. The teams that gains highest points will qualify for the finals of this championship from the league stage. If in case the final results of the series are drawn or tie, the team played for finals will be declared as the joint Champions.
Moreover, these teams will participate in other test matches in this period of time apart from the ICC World Test Championship series.
