Wanindu Hasaranga comes out of retirement for Bangladesh Tests

Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga has made a comeback to Test cricket after previously retiring, earning a spot in the squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Hasaranga will join a formidable spin bowling lineup alongside Prabath Jayasuriya, Ramesh Mendis, Nishan Peiris, and Kamindu Mendis for the ICC World Test Championship series set to commence on March 22.

Dhananjaya de Silva, appointed as Test captain in February, remains in charge, while Kusal Mendis serves as his vice-captain. The Test series is set to commence on March 22 in Sylhet, followed by the next Test in Chattogram starting from March 30.

Hasaranga’s inclusion for the test squad also means he will miss the initial games of the IPL.
