The Court of Appeal appoints an administrative committee for the Football Federation

The Ministry of Sports agreed before the Colombo Court of Appeal today to make amendments to the gazette notification that has been issued so that the Sri Lanka Football Official Election can be held. It was at the time that the writ petition filed by the former President and Secretary of the Sri Lanka Football Federation was called to invalidate the gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Sports cancelling the extension of the official period of the Sri Lanka Football Federation.

At this time, it was agreed to appoint an “Administrative Committee” for the management of the Football Federation, and the agreement has been reached to appoint a retired Supreme Court or Court of Appeal judge as its Chairman. Two of the other members of this committee will be appointed by the Sports Ministry and two others will be appointed by the Patsamkara party.

The management and financial affairs are to be handled by the proposed management committee, and it was agreed by both parties that approval should be obtained from this committee in terms of expenses as well.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාපන්දු නිලවරණය පැවැත්වීමට හැකි වන පරිදි දැනට නිකුත් කර තිබෙන ගැසට් නිවේදනයේ සංශෝධනයන් සිදු කිරීමට ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යංශය අද දින කොළඹ අභියාචනාධිකරණය හමුවේ එකඟ විය. ඒ ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාපන්දු සම්මේලනයේ නිළ කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීම අවලංගු කරමින් ක්‍රීඩා අමාත්‍යංශය විසින් නිකුත් කළ ගැසට් නිවේදනය බල රහිත කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාපන්දු සම්මේලනයේ හිටපු සභාපති හා ලේඛම්වරයා විසින් ගොනු කළ රිට් පෙත්සම කැදවූ අවස්තාවේදීය.

මෙම අවස්ථාවේදී පාපන්දු සම්මේලනයේ කළමණාකාරීත්වය සදහා “කලමණාකරන කමිටුවක්” පත් කිරීමට එකඟතාවය ඇති වූ අතර, එහි සභාපතිවරයා ලෙස විශ්‍රාමික ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණ හෝ අභියාචනාධිකරණ විනිශ්චකාරවරයෙකු පත් කිරීමට එකගතාවය ඵල කර ඇත. මෙම කමිටුවේ සෙසු සාමාජිකයන් අතරින් දෙදෙනෙකු ක්‍රීඩා අමත්‍යවරයා විසින් පත් කිරීමට නියමිත අතර තවත් දෙදෙනෙකු පත්සම්කාර පාර්ශවයෙන් පත් කෙරෙනු ඇත.

කලමනාකරණ කටයුතු හා මූල්‍ය කටයුතු යෝජිත කළමනාකරණ කමිටුව විසින් මෙහෙයවීමට නියමිත අතර, වියදම් සම්භන්ධයෙන්ද අනුමැතිය ලබා ගත යුත්තේ මෙම කමිටුව විසින්ම බව දෙපාර්ශවය විසින්ම එකඟ විය.

Sri Lanka lasses continue to impress

Sri Lanka Under-19 Women extended their impressive run in the Tri-Series with a composed four-wicket victory over Australia Women Under-19 cricket team at Bill Pippen Oval Today.

After being put in to bat, Australia U-19 struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling attack. Ayla Johnson top-scored with 18 off 29 balls, while Alyssa Dermody added a quick 13. However, regular wickets halted their progress as they finished on a modest 91 for 9 in 20 overs. Limansa Thilakarathne led the bowling effort with an impressive 3 for 26, well supported by Chamudi Praboda, who claimed 2 for 21.

In response, Sri Lanka Women Under-19 cricket team chased down the target with 92 for 6 in 19.3 overs.
