Sri-Lanka Over 60s Cricket team ranked 4th in the World Cup 2024

The Sri-Lanka Over 60s Cricket team pocketed the 4th place at the recently concluded Over 60s Cricket World Cup tournament 2024, which ended in Chennai last week. All the top cricketing nations except for Pakistan and Bangladesh participated in this tournament. 

During the group league stages, Sri-Lanka  won against India, Wales and the Rest of the World. Tied with West Indies and only lost to Australia finishing 2nd in the group. 

Qualifying to the semi final, Sri-Lanka  lost to England in the first semi final and New Zealand lost to Australia in 2nd semi final.  Australia beat England convincingly in the final of the over 60’s World Cup whilst Sri-Lanka lost to NZ by a mere 20 runs to pocket the 4th place in this over 60’s World Cup tournament 2024.
