Several officials, including the General Secretary, have decided to resign from the Football Federation, of Sri Lanka which is already facing a ban from the International Football Confederation.

This decision has been influenced by the arbitrary actions of the current President, Mr J Sri Ranga. Many of the officials have decided to resign from the football federation due to the actions that hinder the officials from performing their duties.

Due to the international ban imposed on Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan football team is unable to participate in any kind of international tournament.

A ban was imposed on football due to the actions of the football chairman during the previous regime, and these authorities, who are still engaged in a power struggle, have failed to give a proper place to football in Sri Lanka.
