Fraudsters who deceived Ahimsa who won a World and gave a bronze medal to Sri Lanka!!!
Nethmi Ahimsa, who won a bronze medal in wrestling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, managed to take the Sri Lankan name forward to the World.
When she came to Sri Lanka, the Sports Ministry and her family members were also present to welcome her.
All arrangements have been made by the Sports Ministry to hold a ceremony to honour Nethmi for her victory. This event has been arranged to be held at the Sri Lanka Foundation premises in Colombo.
But due to the fact that she did not have transport facilities to participate in that event, it has been agreed to provide the vehicle of a local council member of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in that area (Girivulla) to provide transport facilities.
But there was a political ulterior motive even then, unknown to her.
Instead of taking Nethmi, who is well-known in the country, to the event organized by the Ministry of Sports without even informing her, the local MP has arranged to take her to MP Namal Rajapaksa in the same vehicle.
Later on, the LC member acted to release a photograph taken with Nethmi and her trainer through social media.
Later, Nethmi Ahimsa informed the Sports Ministry regarding this incident, where the Sports Minister and the sports authorities have expressed their regret regarding the incident.
