Dharmaraja under 14 Hockey team clinch Gold Star

Dharmaraja College Kandy under 14  Hockey team was awarded with a ” Gold Star ” by emerging as the Champions in group ” J ” at the Boys all Island Schools Hockey tournament 2023, organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Hockey Association, under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Education, played at the University of Peradeniya ground Kandy recently. 

Competing at the Boys under 14 all Island Schools Hockey tournament 2023 from group   “J ” along with Vijayapala National School Matale, St. Benedict’s College Colombo, Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo Sri Medhankara Vidyalaya Galle and Sri Parakrama Vidyalaya, they won 3 matches and drew 2 matches. In their matches played, Dharmaraja College Kandy beat Asoka Vidyalaya Colombo by 1 goal to nil with Santhisha Abayakoon netting the goal, beat Vijayapala National School Matale by 1 goal to nil with Santhisha Abayakoon netting the goal, beat Sri Parakrama Vidyalaya by 1 goal to nil with Thisum Rathnayake netting the goal, drew with St. Benedict’s College Colombo and Sri Medhankara Vidyalaya Galle nil all. The team was coached by Ex National Cap Indrawansa Herath, a product of St. Thomas College Matale was the architect behind the team, who guided them to clinch the ” Gold Star ” award at this boys under 14 Schools all Island Hockey tournament 2023.
