Darussalam College, Colombo through to under 20 all Island Football Semi-Final

” THE BALL BLASTER 2023 “

Darussalam College, Colombo qualified for the semi-final, with a 2-nil win against Maris Stella College, Negombo in their under 20 all Island, division 1 quarter-final game of “THE BALL BLASTER 2023”, 1st eleven School Football Challenge Trophy 2023, sponsored by Sri Lankan Sports TV, organized and conducted by the Ministry of Education and Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association,  played at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium,  Colombo on Saturday.

Darussalam College, Colombo drew from the group “A” along with St. Joseph’s College,  Colombo,  De Mazenod College, Kandana, Hameed Al Husseinie College, Colombo, and Kingswood College, Kandy, emerged as the group Champions, with 3 wins and a draw. Maris Stella College,  Negombo drawn from group “D” along with St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena, Vaddakachchi Central College, Kilinochchi, St. Peter’s College, Colombo and Al Aqsha College, Kinniya, emerged as the group runner up, with a win, a draw and losing one. Al Aqsha College, Kinniya has withdrawn from this tournament. 

In 90 minutes of play, (45 minutes of each half), Darussalam College,  Colombo went ahead to lead with, M.I.M. Sameer scoring the goal in the 06th minute of the second half (51st minute of play). B.M.M. Suhaib scoring the 2nd goal in the 22nd minute of the second half ( 67th minute of play) gave them a clear 2-nil lead. Darussalam College soccer sites were in much control of the game till the end of the play, giving no chance of scoring for the Maris Stella players, to seal this great win and qualify for the semi-final of ” THE BALL BLASTER ” Ist eleven School challenge trophy 2023.

Sri Lanka Masters Set for International Masters League T20 2025 Challenge

Sri Lanka Masters, led by legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara, are all set to compete in the much-anticipated International Masters League T20 2025. The tournament, featuring cricketing greats from six nations, will kick off on February 22 and conclude with the final on March 16 in Raipur, India.

Sri Lanka Masters’ Fixtures

The team will begin their campaign against India Masters on February 22 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.
