Bail for ex-Cycling Federation officials

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court recently decided to grant bail to three former leaders who were prosecuted for possessing several bicycles belonging to the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation in violation of the Public Property Act.

N. who was the chairman of the cycling federation. The court decided to grant bail to Mr Karunaratne, its chief secretary Nihal Kulasekera, and Mr Senaka Ranasinghe, who held the position of treasurer. According to a complaint made by the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation, Mr Naleen Adhikarachchi, the Kuruduwatta Police have assigned this case.

Although the bail applications of the defendants who were charged under public property may be rejected, their lawyers pointed out that the accused persons continue to recognize the National Olympic Committee and the International Cycling Federation as legitimate heads of the Sri Lanka Cycling Federation. The Colombo Magistrate’s Court acted.

The case will be called again on March 20.

පොදු දේපළ යටතේ චෝදනා ලබා උසාවියට ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලැබූ වගවුත්තරකරුවන්ගේ ඇප අයදුම්පත් ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කළ හැකි වුවත්, චෝදනා ලැබූ අයවලුන් තවදුරටත් ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාපැදි සම්මේලනයේ කටයුතු කරන නීත්‍යානූකූල ප්‍රධානීන් ලෙස ජාතික ඔලිම්පික් කමිටුව හා අන්තර්ජාතික පාපැදි සම්මේලනය නිළ වශයෙන් පිළිගන්නා බවට ඔවුන්ගේ නීතීඥවරුන් පෙන්වා දීමත් සමග ඔවුන්ට ඇප ලබා දීමට කොළඹ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය කටයුතු කලේය.

මෙම නඩුව නැවත මාර්තු 20 වෙනිදා කැදවීමට නියමිතය.

பொதுச் சொத்தின் கீழ் குற்றஞ்சாட்டப்பட்டுள்ள பிரதிவாதிகளின் பிணை விண்ணப்பங்கள் நிராகரிக்கப்படலாம் என்றாலும், குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டவர்கள் தேசிய ஒலிம்பிக் குழு மற்றும் சர்வதேச சைக்கிள் ஓட்ட சம்மேளனத்தை இலங்கை சைக்கிள் ஓட்டுதல் சம்மேளனத்தின் சட்டபூர்வமான தலைவர்களாக தொடர்ந்து அங்கீகரிப்பதாக அவர்களின் சட்டத்தரணிகள் சுட்டிக்காட்டினர். மாஜிஸ்திரேட் நீதிமன்றம் நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தது.

இந்த வழக்கு மார்ச் 20ஆம் தேதி மீண்டும் விசாரணைக்கு வருகிறது.

The sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is set to take place from July 10 to August 5, 2026, promising another exciting season of top-quality Twenty20 cricket. As Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 competition with a strong international presence, the tournament continues to attract both local and overseas talent.

This year’s matches will be held across four venues: Sinhalese Sports Club Ground (SSC), R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS), Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS), and Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS). These iconic grounds are expected to provide a vibrant atmosphere and excellent playing conditions throughout the competition.
