Zahira College, Colombo will meet Darussalam College, Colombo, while Alighar National School, Eravur, Batticaloa will meet St. Joseph’s College, Colombo in the under 20 All Island, division 1 Semi-Finals of “THE BALL BLASTER 2023”, 1st Eleven Schools Football Challenge Trophy 2023, sponsored by srilankankansportstv, organized and conducted by the Ministry of Education and Sri-Lanka Schools Football Association, to be played on the 15 October 2023, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo, commencing at 1.30 pm onwards.
St.Joseph’s College, Colombo emerging as the runner-up in the group “A”, beat Vaddakachchi Central College by 3 goals to 2 in the quarter-final. Alighar Central College, Eravur, Batticaloa emerging as the runner-up in group “B”, beat St. Henry’s College, Jaffna by 5 goals to nil in the quarter-final. Darussalam College, Colombo emerging as the Champions in group “A” beat Maris Stella College, Negombo by 2 goals to nil in the quarter-final. Zahira College, Colombo emerging as the the Champions in “B” beat Zahira College, Gampola by 6 goals to nil in the quarter-final.
All 4 teams are equally balanced and it will be interesting to see Alighar Central College from Eravur, Batticaloa, when they meet St. Joseph’s College, Colombo in the first semi-final at 1.30 pm. Zahira College, Colombo, and Darussalam College, Colombo will also be an interesting game, which is scheduled at 3.30 pm.
