Matheesha Pathirana one of front line fast bowlers for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Indian Premier League (IPL) has suffered a hamstring injury during the second T20I game between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
As a result, he will not be able to participate in the third T20 International.
The injury is classified as a Grade 1 hamstring injury on his left leg. This setback raises concerns about Pathirana’s availability for the opening fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 22 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Typically, a hamstring injury requires four to seven weeks of recovery time.
Additionally, CSK has already faced the absence of their opening batter, Devon Conway, due to a thumb injury, and his participation for the entire season is uncertain. With Pathirana’s injury, the team led by MS Dhoni now faces additional worries.
