The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the contenders for the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for outstanding performances in March.
In the men’s category, the shortlist includes Mark Adair, a pivotal figure in Ireland’s historic maiden Test victory over Afghanistan, alongside New Zealand’s Matt Henry, who impressed with his bowling prowess during the World Test Championship series against Australia. Rounding off the list is Sri Lankan batsman Kamindu Mendis, recognized for his record-breaking feats against Bangladesh in Test cricket.
On the women’s front, Maia Bouchier from England leads the pack after her explosive batting display in the T20I series against New Zealand. Ashleigh Gardner of Australia, a four-time former winner, earns another nomination for her stellar performance in the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr showcased resilience despite her team’s loss to England, emerging as the leading run-scorer and wicket-taker for the White Ferns.The winners will be decided through a voting process involving an independent ICC Voting Academy and cricket fans worldwide.
